    Ms. Bing Xia is a distinguished guzheng soloist and educator renowned in both China and the Washington DC area. Beginning her guzheng journey at the age of 8, she pursued formal training at Nanjing Normal University with Professor Yan AiHua and Tu Yongmei, followed by advanced studies at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under Professor He Baoquan and Sun Wenyan.

    Ms. Xia commenced her professional career as a guzheng soloist with the Xuzhou city Song and Dance Ensemble in China. Since relocating to the United States, she has been featured prominently at esteemed venues including the Smithsonian Freer Gallery of Art, the Kennedy Center, and numerous cultural festivals nationwide. Her performances have extended to significant institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution, University of Maryland, the DC City Council, the Department of Energy, the IMF, the FCC, the FDA, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the Secret Service, the George Mason University, the Black Rock Performing Arts Center, and the Strathmore Music Center. In January of 2009, she performed at Smithsonian Institution supported by Presidential Inaugural Committee.

    Recognized for her exceptional artistry, Ms. Xia's achievements span beyond performance. She and her students have garnered accolades in national guzheng competitions, solidifying her status as a respected guzheng teacher. Her contributions also include recordings for multimedia projects like the "Civilization VI" video game, and her performances have been broadcasted on NPR and Voice of America.

    Ms. Xia's career is marked by critical acclaim, with the Washington Post praising her performances as "overwhelmingly artistic." Her dedication to promoting guzheng music through both performance and education underscores her influential role in the cultural landscape.
